Rubb supplies new helicopter hangar at Fort Rucker

Rubb Building Systems and Cocoon, Inc. recently collaborated in the installation of a fixedbase maintenance hangar for Army Fleet Support. Based at the Fort Rucker Army Base in Alabama, the helicopter hangar shall be used for training and maintenance of several types of Helicopters.

The structure has a clear span width of 150′ wide, utilizes a 134′ x 22′ Alamo Hangar Door System and two(2) Somatex two ton gantry cranes. In addition, the hangar is outfitted with a high-expansion foam fire suppression system and a full modular lighting and electrical package. This structure was designed to a 12 psf live load, 110 mph wind speed with a 3 second gust and a 3 psf collateral.

The Rubb organization, with production facilities in the United States, Great Britain, and Norway, manufactures prefabricated, portable structures,aircraft hangars, buildings, shelters and custom structures for many applications.
