The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) has announced the selection of the Flightcell DZM2 system for their new fleet of 14 Eurocopter AS 350 B2 patrol helicopters.
The aircraft are currently undergoing completion at Hangar One, Carlsbad, CA and will be specifically tailored to the needs of the LASD Air Support Unit. The DZM2 system was chosen due to its versatility in offering a significant “all in one” hardware package. Satellite and cellular voice and data communications, are contained in a single control head which will be mounted in the centre console. The Systems satellite transceiver (9555 phone) will be mounted for easy removal should crew need Satellite communications off the aircraft.
“We are receiving a lot of support for our equipment on Law Enforcement platforms across the US with great results” said Hamish Neill, VP Sales and Marketing for Flightcell International “We are very proud to have been selected as the system of choice for LA Sheriff’s Department”.
