HAI President Matt Zuccaro, and HAI Director of Safety Stan Rose, welcomed the opportunity to discuss safety initiatives with two leading FAA representatives while exhibiting at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Air Summit in Long Beach, California.

Zuccaro and Rose were able to discuss the HAI and FAA mutual goal of enhancing safety within the helicopter industry with Mel Cintron, FAA Manager of General Aviation & Commercial Division and Dennis Pratt, FAA Deputy Director for Office of Rulemaking. The conversation focused on existing HAI safety programs; the International Helicopter Safety Team, which HAI’s Zuccaro Co-Chairs; and new FAA/industry safety initiatives.

President Zuccaro commented, “These type of discussions are critical to continuing the industry/government partnership towards achieving our jointly established safety goals; we are sincerely appreciative to Mel and Dennis for taking the time to meet with us on the critical issue of safety.”
