Unlikely as it seems, Switzerland has just registered its first Sikorsky S76 on their local “HB-” register, despite the type having been in commercial operations for over 31 years and Switzerland being a very active user of helicopters.

The helicopter concerned is an S76B model, serial 76-0430, and best known to HeliHub.com readers in Europe as the S76 that everyone sees sitting on helipad aboard the superyacht “Lady Moura” in Port Hercule, Monaco. This is not easy to miss – “Lady Moura” is 105m long! However, owner Nasser al-Rashid replaced the 76B with a new 76C++ model in spring 2009, registered VP-CYS and the 76B has been actively for sale for many months. Finally, last week, the 76B was transferred from the Bermudan to the Swiss register as HB-ZMS, with the owner and operator given as Sikornir SA at Sion Airport, Switzerland
