Latitude Technologies, a leading provider of satellite based communication, tracking and onboard aircraft data systems announced that their SkyNode® S100-001 satellite based tracking/messaging device has received FAA Supplemental Type Certificate number SR02872NY covering Bell Helicopter Textron models 206, 206A, 206A1, 206B, 206B1, 206L, 206L1, 206L3, 206L4.  Certificate number SR02875NY covers Eurocopter models AS350B, AS350B1 AS350B2, AS350B3, AS350BA, AS350D, AS350D1, AS55E, AS355F, AS355F1, AS355F2, AS355N, AS355NP and Bell 407. These STCs provide a S100 certification base for most of the intermediate helicopters in operation today.  “This STC is a significant milestone in our plan to provide installers and operators the highest quality standardized installation solutions anywhere” states Mark Insley, President of Latitude, “in addition, these FAA S100 STC’s are continued proof that we are committed to growing our base of approvals to include the most popular airframe types worldwide”.

The SkyNode® S100-001 is the smallest, lightest field proven and approved tracking and data telemetry device in the industry.

It provides security and crew safety for air/ground logistics applications anywhere in the world with interfaces available to multiple mapping and information management systems. The S100-001 provides automatic flight following exceeding Forestry AFF live tracking requirements, provides reliable 2-way data networking/messaging, is remotely configurable, provides data logging and event triggering from external switches/buttons and is equipped with an internal fast-fix 20 channel WAAS GPS receiver.  In addition, auxiliary GPS serial data outputs for Moving Map, Electronic Flight Bag and 406 ELT’s are provided.  Standard features also include OOOI flight schedule reporting, an internal G-Switch for automatic anomaly reporting, auxiliary backup battery option and is Bambi Bucket™ Mission Tracker and Latitude Air Tanker Information System (ATIS) compatible.
