The Boeing Company (NYSE:Â BA) was recognized on Tuesday night with a Diversity Council Honors Awardâ„¢ for outstanding effectiveness and achievements in diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
“Boeing’s commitment to diversity means providing a work environment that’s welcoming, respectful and engaging, where every individual sees the opportunity to contribute to his or her fullest potential,” saidÂ Joyce Tucker, vice president of Global Diversity and Employee Rights.
The award recognizes the efforts of Boeing’s Engineering, Operations & Technology Diversity & Inclusion Council, one of the top 25 U.S. award recipients. Applicants were evaluated on contributions and achievements in four categories: demonstrated council results; demonstrated management commitment; measurement and accountability; and communications and education.
“By promoting diversity and inclusion, we are creating an environment where employees can work effectively together to be more innovative and productive â€“ and to enhance Boeing’s competitive advantage,” saidÂ John Tracy, chief technology officer and senior vice president of Engineering, Operations & Technology.
The Association of Diversity Councils awards the Diversity Council Honors Awardâ„¢ to companies that demonstrate outstanding contributions and achievements of diversity council groups that lead diversity processes in organizations and demonstrates results in their workforce, workplace and marketplace.
