The rising demand on the Helicopter Sector as being  one of the safest, fastest and most versatile transportation method, improving the safety standards where practical is an urge and responding to that the World Food programme Aviation Safety Unite – Sharjah office and as a continuing effort to improve safety standard is organizing:

WFP Helicopter Safety Management System work shop to be held FREE OF CHARGE,  in Emirates training college –Dubai during May 24-25 ,  2011 in full cooperation with Shell Aviation and RUS Aviation as the main sponsor of the work Shop.

One of the top priorities that the World Food Programme aviation safety unit stops at no boundaries to achieve, is to increase the attention to improve aviation safety standards and measures, as it’s a crucial element to the success of the constantly growing regional aviation sector

For the past several years the WFP aviation safety office in Sharjah-UAE  and in conjunction with several other aviation industry key role players were able to draw a more detailed map to model the  walk on the safety path and that’s through multiple trainings, workshops, meetings and conferences.

This is a great opportunity where teams from various aviation sectors can get together and benefit from  the guidance of managing or overseeing safety related functions, from large public transport organizations to smaller general aviation operators, from flight ops to training. It is suitable for operational staff, management staff and safety professionals within all areas of the air transport industry of rotary wing, government agencies, airlines, and air traffic services, maintenance of aircraft and aerodrome operations.

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. In emergencies, we get food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. After the cause of an emergency has passed, we use food to help communities rebuild their shattered lives.

WFP is part of the United Nations system and is voluntarily funded.

Born in 1962, WFP pursues a vision of the world in which every man, woman and child has access at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life. We work towards that vision with our sister UN agencies in Rome — the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) — as well as other government, UN and NGO partners.

In 2010 we aim to reach more than 90 million people with food assistance in 73 countries.
