Haifa, Israel, May 12, 2011 – Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: ESLT) announced today that Lieutenant General (Ret.) Dick Applegate has been appointed to serve as Chairman of Elbit Systems UK.

General Applegate joins Elbit Systems following a distinguished career with the British Army, including Chief of Materiel (Land) in Defence Equipment and Support and member of the Army Board. His role will be to define a growth strategy for Elbit’s presence in the UK and to develop closer ties to the customer community and to the defense industry.
