Jerry Trimble Helicopters is pleased to announce the First Annual Touchdown Auto Rotation Competition being held at the McMinnville Airport on Sunday, June 26.  The event corresponds to the Lions Club Fly-in/Drive-in pancake breakfast.

The competition will be broken down into 2 categories: straight-in autos or 180° autos.  Pilots will have the choice to enter either category.  Scoring will be based on distance from the pre-established “spot” and the slide distance, if any. All flights will be flown with Jerry Trimble unless the pilot supplies their own helicopter.  The cost to enter is $5 which will be donated to a local charity of the pilot’s choice.  Jerry Trimble Helicopters will rent the R-22 at the dual rate of $234/hour. The judges scheduled for the event are Jim Griffin, training captain of Erickson Air Crane, Mike Moffett, Life Flight pilot for Air Methods and Michael Wilson, Vice-President of Operations at Evergreen Helicopters.

The pancake breakfast will be served 7AM – 12PM and all proceeds go to the McMinnville Lions Charity Programs. The public is invited to bring their antique, hot rod, street machine, muscle car or other interesting car or airplane and participate in the show.  The Coast Guard is scheduled to give a hoist demonstration, an EMS helicopter will be on display along with many other static displays. Jerry Trimble Helicopters will be offering $10 helicopter rides all day.  Shuttles are available to the Evergreen Aviation Museum directly across the street from the McMinnville Airport.
