Helicopter Association International President Matt Zuccaro conveys the support of HAI and its members for recent FAA action to impose civil penalties upon individuals who point lasers at aircraft cockpits.

“The helicopter industry is most susceptible to this safety hazard due to the lower altitude mission profiles we fly in both urban and rural locals. We are grateful for the action taken by the FAA to address this danger,” Zuccaro said.

Zuccaro and HAI urge helicopter operators and flight crews to report such incidents so that those responsible can be brought to justice.
