Following interest expressed by Cockpiteers in a new Cockpitfest event in the South of England, The Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare has offered to provide a venue for the weekend of 10th-11th September 2011.

Coinciding with one of the museum’s regular Open Cockpit Days, the new Cockpitfest will offer both indoor and outdoor space for both Cockpiteers and trade stands. Overnight camping will be available along with scheduled helicopter flights on the Sunday and an opportunity for visitors to experience fast-jet and other aircraft cockpits in addition to some of the museum helicopters which will be opened up especially for the event.

Enquiries from Cockpiteers and traders should be addressed in the first instance by email to Lee Mills at The Helicopter Museum (helimuseum@btconnect.com).

The Helicopter Museum is a Registered Charity and houses the Worlds largest collection of helicopters.

Editor note – this very short press release is silent on what “cockpiteers” are etc – we think that cockpiteers are people who are members of the International Cockpit Club (ICC) was founded with the aim of bringing together owners and restorers of aircraft cockpits, aviation collectors and general enthusiasts worldwide.  See also http://www.cockpitfest.co.uk/
