Norwegian operator Blueway signs for fourth EC225

Norwegian operator Blueway signed for a fourth additional EC225 at the Paris Air Show, completing their initial order of three EC225s signed this spring with Eurocopter.  Present at the signature was the newly appointed Blueway CEO Jakob Bae and Eurocopter President and CEO Lutz Bertling.

Blueway AS has provided helicopter services since 1986 and today is Northern Europe’s leading helicopter company. Blueway operates a fleet of 26 helicopters and its offerings include services within Oil & Offshore, Infrastructure, Environment and Search & Rescue. As per July 10th, 2008 Blueway acquired 100% of the shares in Danish helicopter company DanCopter A/S. DanCopter provides passenger transport services to oil and gas companies in the North Sea from bases in Denmark, Holland, Ireland and Norway.

Their fleet of 26 includes three AS350B2, fourteen As350B3, one AS365N2, one AS332C, one AS332L and six EC155B1.

Blueway will continue to utilize the brand names Airlift, DanCopter and Vertech Offshore in each market as these also operate as separate subsidiaries within each business area. Blueway now has operative units in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Netherlands, the UK and Ireland. In addition, its subsidiary Vertech Offshore provides worldwide offshore services with projects in Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, Canada and the Philippines.

Blueway is owned by Reiten & Co Capital Partners VI L.P. (60%), Helicopter Transportation Group (38%) and Skogstad Corporate AS.
