Grand Prairie, Texas – Today, American Eurocopter announced that Corporate Helicopters, a helicopter service provider based in San Diego, California, has placed an order for two AS350 B2’s and two AS350 B3e’s. Two of the helicopters are for specific customers and the other two will be used to upgrade its fleet and help meet the needs of its clients on the West Coast.

The two different models of AStar were chosen for their performance and mission flexibility to fulfill a diverse set of market requirements. “The AS350 B2 is a true transformer. It is a multi-mission helicopter that provides the power and flexibility to meet the needs of a variety of roles,” explains Deann Shier, CEO of Corporate Helicopters. “The AS350 B3e offers the same versatility with the enhanced performance we need in some of the hot & high environments we operate in, especially in the desert locations. Last week we experienced temperatures at 44 C (111 F) and the AS350 B3’s performance was flawless.”
Corporate Helicopters performs a wide array of missions including VIP/corporate transport, aerial film and photography, EMS, firefighting, and tourism. With such varied missions, Corporate Helicopters requires helicopters that can adapt to different parameters and cabin configurations. “We selected aircraft from the AStar family because they are the most versatile helicopters,” said Ivor Shier, President of Corporate Helicopters. “They offer proven, reliable performance with spacious, flexible cabins and all the models in the family feature forward-facing seats that provide unmatched visibility.”

The reliability and performance of the AStar family of helicopters have made it the aircraft of choice for a variety of missions throughout the United States. The AS350 B3e is the newest member of the AStar family and was introduced during Heli-Expo 2011. It has a more powerful Turbomeca Arriel 2D turboshaft engine, along with a new-generation digital FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) and an engine data recorder for condition monitoring. It incorporates tail rotor modifications for additional ease of piloting, and also features an improved interior design.

American Eurocopter is scheduled to deliver one AS350 B2 and one AS350 B3e in September and the remaining two aircraft will deliver in 2012.
