The Evansville, Ind. Air Evac Lifeteam base has been selected as the company’s 2011 Region 1 Base of the Year.

Region 1 consists of Air Evac Lifeteam bases in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Missouri.

The Base of the Year Award is presented to the base in the Air Evac Lifeteam system that best exemplifies the company’s mission, including community service, education and scene work.

“The Evansville base consistently provides its patients with the highest level of care possible,” said Regional Director of Base Operations John Landis. “It is consistently the ‘go to’ base when it comes to outreach education, and crew members are very flexible with their time and have done all they can to assist other bases as needs arise.

“This base always does what is necessary and in the best interest of the patient,” said Landis. “And whenever a class is needed in the community, the Evansville crew always steps up to provide instructors. This base truly makes a difference in their community, and is very deserving of this award.”

The Evansville base is located at 617 W. Delaware St. and is led by Program Director Lonnie Dardeen, who is in charge of all operations at the base.
