Swiss operator Mountain Flyers 80 has acquired a 2004-build Eurocopter AS350B2 from Italy, where it was operated by Eurojet Italia. Previously registered I-BLBU, serial number 3816 is now registered in Switzerland as HB-ZTM, and is being financed by the German company Kunert Aircraft Asset GbR. It replaces sister ship HB-ZAM which was written off in an accident in May (see HeliHub.com page for this accident).
Mountain Flyers, who celebrated 30 years of operations in 2010, have bases at Bern/Belp Airport and at Lodrino. They currently have the following active fleet on the HB- register – one Eurocopter AS350B2 (as above), one Agusta-Bell AB206, one Eurocopter EC120, six Robinson R44s and two R22s.
A bit of fun – their JetRanger is equipped with a webcam which takes a photo every minute it’s flying. See http://www.meinewebcam.ch/mountainflyers/
