Florence Municipal Airport in Oregon has started a $913,000 project to reconfigure and expand the terminal apron. This will improve function and conformance with the FAA design standards, in addition to relocating the existing fueling area and providing new parking positions for aircraft. A new helicopter pad and parking area is also being constructed.
“These are updates that the airport desperately needs,†Airport Manager Gary Rose said. “Part of the project is for safety reasons.â€
Eugene contractor Wildish Construction Co. submitted the lowest bid at $912,722 and was selected earlier this year for the job. The project is fully funded with state and federal grants. From the start date on 29th August, Wildish has 90 days to finish the work, according to the contract.
