Insurance company claims that EMS flight was “not medically justified” and passed Omniflight’s $58,477 invoice to the patient – who has a counter-claim on his hands after a neurologist has confirmed in writing that it was an emergency.  The figure is made up of $249 per “loaded mile” for the 173 mile trip, plus a $15,400 “lift-off fee”.
