Helicopter Foundation International (HFI) is accepting scholarship applications from qualified students. Up to 18 scholarships will be awarded this year.

HFI offers four different types of scholarships. The first is the Commercial Rating Helicopter Scholarship, which will be awarded to pilots who have their private license and are in the process of attaining their Commercial Rating from an FAA approved Part 141 school or its international equivalent. Up to four scholarships will be awarded.  Second, HFI will be awarding the Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship to students who are studying to become maintenance technicians at an FAA approved Part 147 school or its international equivalent. Up to six scholarships will be awarded. Up to seven Bill Sanderson Aviation Maintenance Technician Scholarships will be awarded for students in the maintenance technician field. Finally, the Foundation will award the Michelle North Scholarship for Safety, a scholarship for pilots who have already attained their commercial rating and have shown an outstanding penchant for safe flying and practices.

If you are currently enrolled in school and working towards a career in rotorcraft, you are eligible to have some of your tuition paid for! The deadline for submitting an application for the Commercial Rating, Maintenance Technician Certificate and Michelle North Scholarship for safety is Nov. 30. The deadline for a Bill Sanderson Scholarship is Dec. 30. HFI began accepting scholarship submissions earlier this summer and is looking forward to an outstanding group of winners again this year.
