Leeds-based Multiflight has already completed the conversion of three AS365N2 Dauphins and handed them all over one-by-one to Great North Air Ambulance. The third of these was handed over to GNAA’s Grahame Pickering at the recent Helitech 2011 event.
Multlflight are now to convert a fourth Dauphin to full EMS specifications, to serve as both a maintenance spare to the three with Great North Air Ambulance, but also to tap into the ad-hoc hospital transfer market.
Managing Director of Multiflight, Steve Borrowdale, told HeliHub.com at Helitech that the subject helicopter will be G-CEYU, with the expectation that another example – marked up at the show as G-CGGD, although not officially registered as such – will replace it on the charter fleet. Well, that was the latest plan – Borrowdale had been surprised by the level of interest in G-CGGD and thought that it was possible that it would get sold and not go on the fleet after all.
Watch this space, we will monitor the progress of CEYU – known internally as “See You”, we understand
