Raytheon is showcasing new situational awareness technology, which can be added to existing helicopters, allowing aging instruments to be upgraded quickly and economically. The company’s Center Pedestal Display for the helicopter enables effective use of battlefield information giving today’s warfighter the ability to control and display information from both on-board and off-board sensors. This information includes data link messages, video and annotated imagery, seamlessly integrating the aircraft with ground forces to better improve close air support. In addition, it provides moving maps with GPS location, checklists, landing zone diagrams, manuals, charts and electronic notes all housed in a small, lightweight package proven in theater and ideal for the helicopter pilot.
