UK: Longmint group auditors resign

Shipleys, auditors have filed documents with Companies House – the government department looking after company administration – resigning as auditors to each company in the UK’s Longmint Group.  Some of the companies in this group are already in liquidation, but others, such as Fast Helicopters, are still trading.

The simply worded letter states “Pursuant to section 516 of the Companies Act 2006, we tender our resignation as auditors of the above company with effective date of 29 September 2011 [the date of the letter, Ed.] In accordance with Section 519 of Companies Act 2006, we confirm that there are no circumstances connected with our ceasing to hold office which we consider should be brought to the attention of the members or creditors of the company”

The aviation-related companies involved in this are

  • Alan Mann Aviation Group Ltd
  • Alan Mann Helicopters Ltd
  • Fast Helicopters Ltd
  • Longmint Aviation Ltd
  • Longmint Group Ltd
  • Skydrift Ltd
  • Sterling Helicopters Ltd
  • Total Air Management Services Ltd

The Longmint group also consists of other non-aviation companies, mainly in the property services and hotels sectors.

A wide range of situations can lead to an auditor resigning their responsibilities, and it would be speculation to try and narrow down the central reason here.  We do note that the auditors chose to resign, rather than be removed of their status by the Directors of the company.

Shipleys were not available for comment when we filed this story.
