FAA approves Aerolite EMS interiors in AW139

Aerolite has received an FAA validation for a previously issued EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a new lightweight EMS interior for the AW139.

The new multi-mission interior allows the full spectrum of EMS, SAR and police missions and can easily be converted from an EMS set up to an 8 or 11 passenger configuration.

The spacious cabin arrangement allows for a multitude of missions including single and dual patient EMS and is compatible with FLIR, rappelling, fast rope and hoisting equipment. The location of the stretcher systems, stowage provisions and sliding swiveling seating benefit each mission profile. Aerolite has been awarded contracts for 11 interiors for 2 different undisclosed US customers to be delivered during 2011 and 2012.

According to the company, this newest STC is Aerolite’s 21st EASA STC for AW139 EMS interior configurations. Some of these STCs have also been validated by the Brazilian ANAC, Canadian TC, Japanese JCAB and US FAA.
