One Eurocopter helicopter EC155-B1 was officially handed over from Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC) to Northern Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (VNH North) on 5th November at Gia Lam Heliport, Hanoi. To be presented at the ceremony were top leaders from Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Defense, Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, Vietnam Airlines, European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) and Vinacopter Vietnam.
The cooperation between VALC and VNH North marked a turning point in the civil aviation industry of Vietnam, especially in helicopter transportation market. Captain Tran Xuan Dinh, Director of VNH North, said: “In 2011, VNH North has implemented several market assessments for helicopter services field, which found that it has great potential. That is the reason why the company should continue to further develop the number of helicopters to meet market’s need.”
Mr. Tran Long, VALC General Director, asserted at the ceremony: “Modern and comfort, safety and efficiency are what VALC wants to bring to Vietnamese market with the EC155-B1”. EC155-B1 is Eurocopter’s top-end 14-seat twin-engine helicopter. It is an enhanced version of the celebrated proven Dolphin family’s with 40% more cabin space, the most advanced technologies available today and more engine power. The twin Turbomeca Arriel 2C2 engines are optimised for high or hot conditions and are fitted with Full Authority Digital Engine Controls (FADEC) for totally automated one engine inoperative (OEI) safety.
EC155-B1, distributed in Vietnam by Vinacopter, is a truly high performance helicopter, with the design of airframe, main rotor and tail rotor combining to give it the lowest vibration and noise signature in its class, bringing to passengers and pilots comfort and convenience on safe and cost effective flights.
