To: All NEMSPA Members, Corporate Partners, and All Others affiliated with Air Medical Transport.
First, I want to say “Thank you” to our members and corporate partners for your involvement and commitment to safety in the HEMS industry and for your support of the National EMS Pilots Association.
Second I want to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in the Heliport Safety Survey that NEMSPA recently conducted. Your input has been invaluable and I am pleased to announced that it has been heard loud and clear within the FAA and throughout the industry.
NEMSPA was one of three industry groups that were invited to Washington, D.C. to meet with the FAA to discuss the recently proposed revisions to the heliport advisory circular (FAA AC 150/5390-2C). The FAA was very receptive and interested in the results of the heliport safety survey and NEMSPA’s official comments on the proposed revisions. In fact it was due to these two documents that NEMSPA was invited to Washington to participate.
The new heliport advisory circular is expected to be published sometime in the first part of 2012 and your input and comments via the heliport safety survey have been considered in shaping the substance of this very important document. NEMSPA’s involvement in this process has also opened up a very important conduit of communications with yet another division within the FAA, which NEMSPA intends to expand and foster going forward.
NEMSPA is dedicated to giving all HEMS pilots a voice to insure that their opinions are not only heard but clearly communicated to both government and industry agencies alike and that their opinions are carefully considered in the implementation of changes and improvements in the HEMS industry.
If you are a current member of NEMSPA then, Thank you! Now I challenge you to encourage a friend (or two, or ten) to become a member. If you are a past member whose membership has lapsed, I invite you to consider rejoining NEMSPA and stepping up your involvement in your industry.
If you have never been a member but are looking for a way to increase the scope of your contribution to the success and quality of your industry, then consider partnering with NEMSPA to making your voice and ideas heard. We offer frequent opportunities for individuals to become involved and to make a difference. Even with one of the lowest priced memberships in the industry, at only $48 a year, NEMSPA still remains one of the most pro-active and engaged professional aviation associations in the country. We are making a significant difference on multiple fronts.
Like all professional associations, our ongoing effectiveness relies on the support of our members and our corporate partners. So please consider joining or partnering with NEMSPA to help us create an even stronger and safer air medical transport industry for the future.
