Kaman appoints VP Strategic Initiatives

Kaman Aerospace Group announced today the appointment of Pat Wheeler to Vice President, Strategic Initiatives reporting to Greg Steiner, President.

Wheeler joined Kaman with the 2011 acquisition of Vermont Composites, Inc. where he served as President and CEO for the past seven years, effectively building that business from a start-up to a key industry supplier of composite aerospace and medical structures and assemblies.

He will work with each of Kaman’s aerospace divisions concentrating on acquisitions, teaming, and alliances. In addition, Wheeler will work with the businesses to help to identify, analyze, pursue, and close key strategic investments, including technology development, product/technology licensing, worldwide manufacturing, and market development.

Prior to his role as CEO of Vermont Composites, Pat was President of Questech Metals of Vermont and previously, Vice President, Finance for Aeneas Venture Capital Group, a $1.2 billion Venture Capital Fund of Harvard University’s Endowment. He also held several positions with Dennison Manufacturing Company, a Fortune 500 company, including Director, Mergers/Acquisitions. He began his business career with Arthur Andersen and earned his CPA. Wheeler obtained a B.S. in Accounting from Bentley College.

Pat will be based at the Kaman Aerospace Group headquarters in Bloomfield, Connecticut. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in Manchester, Vermont and have three children.
