Becker Avionics announced today that its Digital Audio System, the DVCS6100, was selected for the Royal Australian Navy’s Retention and Motivation Initiative (RMI) program. The three (3) Bell 429s will be provided to the Royal Australian Navy’s through Raytheon Australia.

The RMI program provides the Royal Australian Navy with supported aircraft to allow junior qualified aircrew to consolidate and enhance their skills prior to flying operational helicopters. Under the terms of this four-year contract, these three state-of-the-art Bell 429s will replace currently operated helicopters in the fleet and fly a minimum of 1,500 flight hours per year.

The Becker DVCS6100 was chosen for these aircraft due to its unique ability to effectively manage and control all audio sources in the aircraft. Becker’s Digital multi-channel audio and intercom system, with its software configurable profiles, provides the flexibility to specifically customize the system to meet the demanding operational requirements of Military, Airborne Law Enforcement and Air Medical Transport organizations.

The DVCS6100 provides crystal-clear audio quality and manages up to 8 transceivers, receivers, and several audio warning sources in one central system. It is also the only commercial digital audio product available hat can provide simulcast capability on 8 channels.

Brett Gardner, Director of Sales and Marketing, said, “We are very enthusiastic about the selection of our DVCS6100 for the new Bell 429s for the Royal Australian Navy’s RMI program. Our system is a perfect fit for these training aircraft. The DVCS6100 provides them with a modern audio and intercom system which is similar to the functionality of systems installed in the other Australian Navy aircraft platforms.”

About the DVCS6100

The DVCS6100 design provides the customer with ability to match a wide range of operational requirements with only one system. The built-in scalability and flexibility reduces not only the cost and time requirements for constant re-engineering and certification for a tailored system solution, but also reduces the learning curve for integration, maintenance and troubleshooting time. Through software programming options, the system is both easily and quickly configurable to individual customer requirements, thus saving time and money.

The DVCS’ open system architecture technology provides for operational comfort and superior voice quality, ensuring that almost any customer requirement can be met, while providing crystal clear communication for crew and passengers. Becker Avionics focuses on meeting individual requirements with the highest commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

The state-of-the-art Digital DVCS6100 will enhance the effectiveness of any aerial platform. When compared to a legacy analog audio system, Digital technology provides simplified installation, improved performance, reduced wiring and weight, along with reduced installation and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the comprehensive built-in-test (BIT) feature enables line maintenance crews to easily diagnose/isolate failures and to replace system components quickly.

No matter what the mission; from military, EMS, law enforcement, to passenger transport and surveillance or utility operations, the Becker Digital Audio system ensures a more modern and capable aerial platform.
