The ISAT-200A, released at HELI-EXPO 2012 in Dallas, and scheduled for production in September 2012, is making waves with its ability to replace boxes and save space and weight in the aircraft. With Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) becoming increasingly more important for safety and contract compliance, SkyTrac has revolutionized its latest flight following and SatCom product to align with this paradigm shift.

The ISAT-200A expands on your typical SatCom and Flight Following systems of the past. It allows for up to two hours of cock-pit voice recording and can store data that can be accessed ‘on demand’. Also included in the transceiver is a built in multi-axis accelerometer for attitude profiling and exceedance detection.

Kathleen Wallace, President and CEO of SkyTrac Systems commented, “We are pleased to be able to offer a solution to our clients that gives them the ability to collect additional data, as well as provide them with a flight following and SatCom solution. It is a huge bonus to be able to provide the same outcome with one box when multiple different products and subscriptions were required in the past.”

Operators can use the ISAT-200A to collect various instrument information such as torque, fuel quantity, engine oil pressure/temperature and engine fuel pressure. They have the ability to configure the desired parameters through SkyWeb and then set up exceedance notifications that can be emailed to designated people.

The ISAT-200A has the potential to revolutionize the onboard systems in an aircraft, and give the operator access to more data and more information than was ever possible. With a focus on giving operators the information to improve safety procedures and increase flight data monitoring, the ISAT-200A is the latest innovation in the flight following and SatCom market.
