Med-Trans Corporation and AirMed of Augusta, Georgia announced today a newly formed partnership between the twoorganizations to operate the AirMed air medical services.  The newly formed partnership will work in unison to manage the highly regarded AirMed flight program well into the future. The two organizations recently joined forces as AirMed was looking to establish a working relationship with an air medical provider with similar attributes focused on quality, safety and patient care.

Med-Trans will become the aviation partner for both of AirMed’s rotor-wing and fixed-wing divisions, assuring the region continues to receive superior clinical care and to build upon the exceptional reputation that AirMed has developed over the past 12 years. While AirMed’s familiar faces and highly skilled clinical care will remain consistent, Med-Trans plans to introduce a factory new EC-135P2+ aircraft and will continue to operate the King Air B200. The new helicopter will continue to offer the latest in aircraft technology with state-of-the-art safety equipment and features, such as night vision goggles, radar altimeter, GPS navigation, satellite tracking and communications and helicopter terrain alert warning systems (HTAWS).

“This is a win-win for the citizens of the region and the AirMed flight program.  Our patients and healthcare partners will continue to see the same flight teams they have come to depend on over the years for clinical excellence, operating under the same protocols and medical direction.  Additionally, our partnership with an industry leader such as Med-Trans Corporation facilitates significant financial and aviation-related resources that will enable AirMed to thrive well into the future,” stated Dan Gates President and CEO of AirMed.

Bo Pounds, Gold Cross owner and Fouder of AirMed stated, “This is an exciting time for all involved with AirMed as we continue to pursue excellence in patient care.  Our newly developed relationship with Med-Trans assures ongoing success in providing critical air medical care to the residents in our service area throughout Georgia and South Carolina.”

Rob Hamilton, Sr. VP of Business Development at Med-Trans Corporation said, “AirMed has done an incredible job of building strong hospital and EMS system relationships throughout Georgia and South Carolina and is a recognized leader in the care of burn patients throughout the region.  We are pleased to be partnering with AirMed and contributing to the ongoing success of the flight program well into thefuture.”
