The Thai Government has in the last week approved the purchase of four Eurocopter EC725 helicopters for SAR work by the Royal Thai Air Force.  These are thought to be the first four of a potential order for ten, with a further batch to be confirmed in later years.  They will certainly modernise the SAR work in the Far Eastern country, which currently uses UH-1 helicopters for this task.
