The Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare is holding a special Free Educational Open Day on Friday 14th December between 10am and 7pm.
“We would like to invite all those who work in the educational sector and who plan group outings and educational activities to visit their local museum and experience first hand the resources available literally on their doorstep.” said the Helicopter Museum’s Sharon Webber. “Museum volunteers will be on hand to take attendees on a short tour of the museum and the aircraft in its collection from both a local and international historical and geographical point of view. Attendees can also experience what it is like to fly a helicopter on the Museums Flight Simulator and climb into a real helicopter cockpit and try the pilots helmet on for size. Both are actual activities available to visiting groups.”
Those attending will also be shown the Museum’s Classroom and Educational resources. Complimentary tea, coffee and mince pies will be available throughout the day.
