Cobham has won an order from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to supply its Model 265-005 Area Microphone Preamplifier for the United States Marine Corps’ CH-53K Super Stallion Heavy Lift Helicopter.
Cobham Aerospace Communications manufactures Area Microphone Preamplifier Equipment compatible with several manufacturers’ voice and data recorders used across a wide range of aircraft applications. The Model 265, which detects and amplifies cockpit signals for routing to voice recorders, is available with industry-standard DZUS panel mount, glare shield surface mount, and integrated or remotely-connected microphone options. The CH-53K, 200-ship program is expected to continue through 2020 and beyond.
