Helicopter operators are maintaining readiness for the return to service of EC225s. An element of this are short maintenance flights over land.
The 20-minute flights will take place without passengers and are intended to keep the aircraft within their maintenance certification, meaning they won’t have to be placed for long periods in storage. As these maintenance flights don’t take place over water, they are allowed under regulation from the Civil Aviation Authority.
These flights will be taking place all over the world as EC225 operators reach the end of a four-month approval from Eurocopter.
