Enstrom Helicopter Corporation has been working on achieving certification for the 480B in Argentina. The application was completed May 1, 2012, and since then it has been an ongoing process to complete the validation. During the process, Enstrom created a dedicated Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement for Argentina. Six officials from the Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) visited from Córdoba, Argentina from November 26 through November 30 to perform preliminary certification review items. There was also one FAA official in attendance.
“It has been a team effort throughout Enstrom and with the support of our customer to complete the validation process,” said Enstrom President and CEO Jerry Mullins. “Everyone has been working diligently to get the certification validated. We’re very excited to get this process completed, and to get aircraft into Argentina.”
Enstrom is currently working on delivery of two aircraft to Argentina. The aircraft are expected to ship first quarter of 2013 upon approval of the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the requested optional Litter Kit. Argentinian type certificate No. HE-1201 for the Enstrom 480B was issued January 7, 2013.
Founded in 1959, Enstrom Helicopter Corporation manufactures a complete line of helicopters. The three-seat, piston-powered F28F and 280FX are popular training, sport, and light commercial aircraft. The larger turbine-powered 480B is available as a three-place advanced trainer and patrol aircraft, or as a three to five place executive transport. For law enforcement applications Enstrom produces a specialized variant of the 480B, known as the Guardian, and the F28F, called the Sentinel.
