UK – Capital Air Services add two S76s on management

Capital Air Services of Oxford have taken on two Sikorsky S76 helicopters recently on a management contract. Previously under the control of Premiair Aviation Services at Blackbushe, HeliHub.com expects that the recent significant changes there have led the owner to move his S76A+ and S76C++ to Capital. Both have been re-listed on the CAA website last Thursday in the name of Capital Air Services Ltd with the notation “Chartered”, indicating that they do not own the aircraft but the paperwork goes through them – check G-BURS and G-URSA pages with the CAA. In February 2012, Sikorsky announced that the owner of these two aircraft has an S76D on order, which they said “will be operated in the UK or Switzerland for VIP and passenger flights”.

Capital Air Services is based at Oxford Airport and lists their fleet on their website as EC135, EC155 and S76C++. This includes an umbrella AOC arrangement provided to Cardinal Helicopter Chater – close inspection of the footer of the Cardinal website shows “Operated under Capital Air Services Air Operators Certificate(GB2049)”.
