Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today the kick-off of its participation in Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space Exposition 2013 in National Harbor, Md. April 8-10. Bell Helicopter will display models of the V-22 Osprey, AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom in its booth as well as new 3-D interactive programs demonstrating the capabilities of the Bell H-1 helicopters and the V-22 tiltrotor. A mockup of a V-22 Osprey tiltrotor fuselage will be displayed by Bell-Boeing in booth 2713.

“Navy League provides an important opportunity for us to interact with our existing and potential military customers, and our H-1 and V-22 models and interactive programs allow us to showcase the unmatched capabilities of these revolutionary aircraft,” said Mitch Snyder, executive vice president for military programs at Bell Helicopter. “The V-22 Osprey fuselage demonstrator on display at the show will provide attendees the ability to experience the various configurations and utility of this transformational aircraft up close.”

The revolutionary Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey fills an operational niche like no other aircraft by combining vertical lift with long-range naval logistics and rapid self-deployment to any theater of operation. The combat-proven V-22 Osprey ranks among the safest, most survivable vertical lift aircraft in the naval inventory and is uniquely positioned to replace the aging C-2 Greyhound in performing the Carrier Onboard Delivery mission for the U.S. Navy.

The AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom aircraft provide the U.S. Marine Corps with upgrades in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, targeting, precision fire, lift and operational reach, while supporting a spectrum of utility and attack missions without compromising weight, fuel or weapons load. The UH-1Y provides military customers the ability to complete existing missions more efficiently and explore new capabilities, while the AH-1Z offers the widest array of ordnance of any helicopter in the world.

Hosting more than 175 exhibits, the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space Exposition brings the U.S. defense industrial base, military decision makers and private sector U.S. companies like Bell Helicopter together for an annual educational event. Founded in 1965 and now the largest maritime exposition in the United States, the show is an extension of the Navy League’s mission to inform the American people and their government the United States of America is a maritime nation and its national defense and economic well-being depend upon strong sea services, including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine.
