In order to make the flight at 90 to 100 kts just as smooth as at lower speeds, Helicopteres Guimbal has developed and qualified new vibration attenuation pendulums (VAP).

The principle of these small devices is to oscillate in opposition to the stimulation of rotor blades, thus cancelling the dynamic forces. They are typical of high maneuverability, multi-bladed rotors.

Cabri VAPs have shown an impressive effectiveness: above 90 kts they reduce the 3-per-rev vibration by a factor of 9 !

They are even more effective at high speeds (the Cabri has an outstanding Vne of 130 kts @ SL). VAPs can be installed by qualified service centers in a couple of hours and the total weight penalty is a moderate 1.5 kg

Retrofit kits will be delivered starting end of April, and VAPs equip all new machines from now on.
