HAI President Matt Zuccaro has contacted Richard Gordon, chair of the California Assembly’s Business, Professions and Consumer Protection Committee, to express his support for aviation safety legislation (AB 867) to require all Meteorological Evaluation Towers (MET) to be marked and lit, allowing a helicopter or airplane to clearly see them during day or night flight operations.

HAI believes unmarked towers pose a significant safety threat to pilots and their flight crews. All HAI members in the State of California are strongly encouraged to submit a letter to Richard Gordon regarding this important legislation.
