After their move in November to a larger newly remodeled facility, the Broomfield, Colo.-based company has added new helicopters and services.
Heli-Ops is now a full service helicopter flight center. Their award-winning training center is the first in the United States to offer full-curriculum Scenario Based Training programs. They also have a utility side of the operation and fly natural gas pipeline inspections, wildlife counts, power-line patrols and more.
Heil-Ops has added two new helicopters to their fleet: another Robinson R44 Raven II, and the first Robinson R22 of more to come. The R22 has fewer than 80 hours on it and, with the new Dash Six blades, is a great addition to the operation. With an introductory price of only $290 per hour, it is by far the lowest price option in the state of Colorado for flight training and time building. This gives Colorado Heli-Ops customers four options: the R44, R22, Schweizer 300c, and upon request, Bell L3 LongRanger — more options than any other flight school in the state.
In addition to their expansion, Colorado Heli-Ops also now offers outside helicopter maintenance in their hangar at KBJC. Their director of maintenance specializes in helicopters and has over 22 years of experience as an A&P — 13 on their airport — and has been to the Robinson Factory Maintenance course, the Schweizer 300/333 Factory Course, Rolls Royce turbine engine course and others. Heli-Ops has all of the tools necessary to do the work its customers need, has many spare parts and is on call 24 hours a day. They even have a brand new mobile unit that can go to customers’ locations when necessary with all required tools and equipment.
More information about Heli-Ops’ recent developments can be found on the Heli-Ops website and Facebook page, or by calling the hangar at 303-466-HELI (4354).
