
Russian manufacturer Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant – part of Russian Helicopters – has recently held the opening ceremony on a new building. The 1,400 sq.m two-storey facility is the administrative and production building for the final assembly shop
The new building facilitates the expansion of production space for a second assembly line, as well as to improve the working conditions of more than one hundred employees. The new building houses a spacious and well-equipped avionics workshop for 40 employees. UUAP says they are committed to further investment in upgrading both the equipment and infrastructure for their staff, and expect an increase in productivity and quality will follow.

For 70-year history of the plant built more than 8,000 aircraft. Today, the plant specializes in the production of the Mi-171 (Mi-8AMT) and Mi-171SH.

JSC “Helicopters of Russia” – a subsidiary of OPK “Oboronprom” (part of the State Corporation Rostekhnadzor), one of the world’s leading helicopter industry, the only developer and manufacturer of helicopters in Russia. Holding was formed in 2007. The head office is located in Moscow. The holding comprises five helicopter plants, two design bureaus, as well as manufacturers and service components and service company that provides after-sales support in Russia and abroad. In 2012, the turnover at Russian Helicopters grew by 21% and amounted to 125.7 billion rubles, while the volume of shipments reached 290 units.
