Bristow Helicopters have now completed their three month training period with their new SAR Sikorsky S92s. Accordingly the three newly delivered helicopters have now been moved from Inverness to Sumburgh ready for the start of operations on 1st June 2013. The “Gap SAR” contract, an interim period until Bristow’s nationwide SAR contract comes into force between 2015 and 2017 (see story),  will see two of these S92s based at Sumburgh and two at Stornorway.

HeliHub.com understands the company’s fourth S92 will be delivered via airfreight to Prestwick airport in the next two weeks and shortly after flown to Aberdeen for final checks before being delivered out. The second pair of S92s are contracted to be on station at Stornoway from 1st July.
