The third Guimbal Cabri imported to the UK – and the first for a private owner – arrived on Friday after a delivery flight from the factory at Aix en Provence in France. Following inspection by the UK CAA due this Wednesday, and its subsequent issue of a UK Certificate of Airworthiness, the helicopter will be repositioned to its home base at Elstree. New owner Roy Harford is an experienced helicopter owner, having had two Robinson R22s and three R44s in the last 24 years. Further information on his transition away from Robinson aircraft can be found in our article Third Cabri sold into UK market.
This aircraft is also the first UK example to be fitted with anti-vibration pendulums, which have significantly improved the comfort of the aircraft – particularly in the 90-100 knot range. These pendulums will be retrofitted to all UK Cabris over the next few weeks, according to local Distributor for the Guimbal Cabri, Cotswold Helicopter Centre.
