As a result of a Joint Venture between Aero Sekur and HRD Aero Systems Inc. a one stop hub for the repair and overhaul of commercial aircraft safety equipment has been formed. Operating as a European Centre of Excellence,
HRD Aero Sekur builds on both organisations’ established MRO skills and services.
The new 20,000 sq. ft. MRO operation situated less than a mile away from Aero Sekur’s primary manufacturing and R&D operation in Aprilia, South of Rome is located close to Fiumicino airport. The facility undertakes repair and overhaul of aircraft escape slides, flotation bags, lifejackets, life-rafts/systems, aircraft/helicopter gassing systems, fuel tanks for helicopters, cargo nets, oxygen cylinders, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
Commenting on the merger of the two organisations’ skills and competencies, which has strengthened both company’s positions on the global MRO arena, Alessandro Perillo, Business Operations Director for Aero Sekur said:

As a result of the JV, we are providing a full service including engineering, through-life repair and overhaul. The new MRO operation complements existing OEM business and provides an immediate response service.

Aero Sekur are survival systems specialists. The Anglo-Italian organisation has provided MRO support and services from its Aprilia manufacturing and development facility for over twenty years. In July 2011 the company formed Aero Sekur Inc. and over the last two years partnerships have been established in locations including Brazil, South Africa, Japan and India, giving extensive global coverage.
Aero Sekur is certified to EASA Part 21 IT.21G.0029, EASA Part 145 IT.145.0247, FAR 145-FAA I4IY273N and U.S. DOT 101 C986. Other credentials include status as an approved repair station for RFD Beaufort.
