Bahrain to launch EMS helicopter service

Bahrain’s Government yesterday approved the creation of the Central Emergency Service, which will include air rescue. Minister of State for Information Affairs and official spokeswoman Sameera Rajab said that the imperative behind this move was worsening road traffic congestion. The scheme is already in the pilot phase and the Health Ministry has been ordered to make it fully operational, she added.

We will add more to this story as it becomes available.  As far as we understand, no decision has yet been made on helicopter type.  We would assume it only needs a single helicopter as the whole country is only 295 square miles in area, but that has not been officially confirmed as yet.
