The MedEvac Foundation International has awarded Geoffrey Donovan the 2013 Children’s Scholarship award. He will be attending the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina in the fall, majoring in International Business.

Geoff receives the scholarship based on his dedication to of his father who lost his life in an air medical accident in 1991. In his application essay, Geoff writes, “My father spent most of his twenty-nine years on this earth working to benefit the lives of others, which in turn brought him happiness.”

Geoff has turned to family and friends to learn about his father because he never had the opportunity to meet him. His father was killed before Geoff was born. Even so, Geoff credits his father “as the motivation behind each and every step I take forward in life, and a constant reminder to never look back.”

Geoff has a strong background in volunteerism, working with C.A.N.T.E.R., an innovative organization that provides support and a safe environment for disabled individuals to ride retired racehorses. Geoff has also maintained a GPA of over 3.80 at his current school, earning him placement on the President’s List, an honor bestowed on just 7 percent of the entire student body. The MedEvac Foundation commends Geoff on his accomplishments and his bright future.

“Congratulations to Geoff, a model candidate for the 2013 Children’s Scholarship,” says MedEvac Foundation President and CEO, Rick Sherlock. “The Scholarship is a dedication to the parents and guardians who lost their lives in the line of duty, and their children who carry on their legacy.”

The Children’s Scholarship is made possible through the generous gifts of MedEvac Foundation donors. If you would like to make a donation for the Children’s Scholarship fund, please contact the MedEvac Foundation or visit our webpage atwww.medevacfoundation.org.
