AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is attending Helitech 2013, the largest helicopter trade exhibition in Europe this year held in London, showcasing a range of products from its comprehensive range of state-of-the-art commercial helicopters.

Main focus at Helitech 2013 for AgustaWestland is on the Family of new generation helicopters including the AW139 and the AW189 as well as the all new AW169 4.5 ton class light intermediate helicopter, the AW101 model and the comprehensive range of support and training solutions offered by the company. AgustaWestland has experienced a continued, growing presence in the commercial market in recent years through its ever expanding range of products, covering all major applications such as VIP/corporate, offshore transport and EMS/SAR and significant results have been achieved in Europe.

AgustaWestland plays a leading role in the global VIP/corporate and passenger transport market with a 65% share for multiengine aircraft in the last five years and the AW139 owns a 46% of this market in its category. The AW139 has also become the leader in its class in the Oil&Gas industry market with a 56% share. In all applications the AgustaWestland dedicated products all share the same commitment to high customization and tailored solutions to meet the largest variety of customer expectations.

The Family of new generation helicopters, a unique and unprecedented concept in the rotorcraft sector, developed by AgustaWestland shows continued growth of interest and acceptance in the global market. Prime large fleet operators as well as various additional customers intend to benefit from the unparalleled advantages stemming from commonalities in design, certification and safety standards, mission capabilities as well as support and training approach allowing outstanding flexibility and cost/effectiveness.

The AW139 is still unbeaten in its class with nearly 740 units on order in around 60 countries from over 200 customers covering a large number of commercial, parapublic and government roles, with almost 600 helicopters in service and over 750,000 flight hours logged globally. The AW189 is nearing certification with the first three offshore-configured production aircraft now under assembly at Vergiate plant in Italy and expected to be delivered by year end. Key training assets are to be available shortly such as an AW189 Flight Training Device and the Full Flight Simulator to allow training activities is made available to customer soon. The four prototypes and two pre-production aircraft used for the programme development have totalled over 1900 flight hours so far and orders for more than 80 units have been made by customers from various nations. With certification expected next year, the AW169 programme has now exceeded 400 flight hours with four prototypes and more than 100 units have been sold to operators worldwide to date. Capable to comfortably host up to 30 passengers on board offering high performance and safety standards thanks to its three engines and advanced technology, the proven AW101 16 ton class helicopter is perfectly suited for VVIP transport duties also including government transport applications.
