HeliServices (Hong Kong) Ltd has bought an MD Explorer, their first of the type, although they do have long experience of MD500 and MD520 single-engine MD types, along with Eurocopter SA315B Lama and AS350 Squirrel. The Explorer has been purchased from a private owner in the UK (who flew it as G-SIVR), and is close to completing repainting and other work with Specialist Aviation Services at Gloucestershire Airport, where the photo of it was taken.
Heliservices was formed in 1978 as the first rotary-wing service provision company in Hong Kong. Heliservices provides a multitude of aviation services including flightseeing tours, aerial filming and photography, banner towing, VIP charter services, aerial surveying, lifting and construction work and power line and inspection services. Heliservices also provides aircraft management and maintenance services with its own fully-certified Hong Kong HKAR Part 145.
We approached HeliServices (Hong Kong) for comment, but they did not respond within the suggested timescale.
