Riverton Memorial Hospital (RMH) is pleased to announce the completion of a new helipad located near the hospital’s emergency room. The additional helipad allows increased access to air ambulances for transferring patients who need advanced medical treatment not currently provided at RMH.
The helipad was built in partnership with Classic Lifeguard, an air ambulance company that has stationed a helicopter in Riverton. Classic Lifeguard intends to maintain a helicopter on the helipad when available, which could reduce average times needed to transfer patients to outside medical facilities.
“The new helipad is a winning situation for Riverton Memorial Hospital and patients needing emergency health care in Fremont County,” said Steve Erixon, CEO for RMH and Lander Regional Hospital. “Not only does the partnership increase our access to emergency transportation, but also, the additional space allows RMH to handle larger emergency situations more effectively.”
RMH also maintains a secondary helipad on the southwest corner of the facility. Join us to dedicate the new helipad on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.
