On October 16, a delegation of 14 individuals representing Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, and Zambia kicked off the second leg of a two-week Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) to the United States with a visit to HAI headquarters.
Organized by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, the RTM’s objective was to gather data on light aircraft, civilian helicopter operations, and associated financing options available in the United States.
The delegation spoke with HAI President Matt Zuccaro and David York, vice president of regulations and international affairs, about safety and the multiple mission roles a helicopter can serve.
From Washington D.C., the group flew to Las Vegas to attend the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annual convention. While out West, the delegation also paid a visit to HAI member Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters at their Boulder City location, where they were shown the operations of a very successful air tour business.
