Helibras participates in Itajuba’s first Innovation Fair

Helibras will attend the 1st Fair Open Innovation Itajubá, held from 4 to 6 November, on the campus of the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI). The event is part of the project of fostering innovation in the county, funded by the Foundation and Research of the State of Minas Gerais (FAPEMIG) and executed by UNIFEI with the support of the city. The first action of this project took place in July, with the launch of the portal Innovation Network Itajubá ( http://inovacaoitajuba.com.br ).

Through the fair, the organizers want to promote the city as a reference in technology and knowledge, and thus attract entrepreneurs, researchers and other stakeholders to encourage both the generation of new business and the approach between business and academia. Therefore, there is a full program of lectures, mini-courses and talk show, with names like Paulo Matos, Manager of Innovation and Methodology FIAT; Nelson Faria, director of Engineering, Technology and Innovation Network Globe, and Guilherme Amaral, the Innovation Lab at the University of São Paulo (USP).

In addition to presentations, the fair will feature booths of supporting companies, including Helibras. The event will also be held the “1st Meeting Miner Open Innovation”, with the presentation of academic papers.

Helibras, which 35 years is inserted in the city and experiences constantly innovation activities, is one of the sponsors of this initiative. “We are directly involved with innovative technologies, especially the area in which we operate and for being the only helicopter manufacturer in Latin America. It is part of our corporate philosophy encouraging the dissemination of research and new practices that add efficiency in daily work and in our final product, “says Vitor Coutinho, director of Innovation and Helibrás coordinator relationship with entities of research and development within and outside Brazil.

The city of Itajubá, besides sheltering in its federal university courses of high technological content, is empowering to build a pole of rotorcraft, in partnership with the Helibrás, will study processes and components for helicopters. “The aim is to find new ways to execute processes specifically related to the production, design and maintenance of the aircraft, and also find solutions to difficulties that apply to other markets, for example, sustainable growth, jobs and clean energy biofuel, which could extend to various industries, “says Vitor. The Court finds that the actions that the company has been taking for the design of the Brazilian helicopter in 2020.

The concept of “open innovation” can be described as the use of inputs and outputs intentional knowledge to advance in technological capability as a competitive advantage to businesses and professionals. To participate, simply attend the UNIFEI, during the event, and make an accreditation.
