Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of Rostec State Corporation, has won the Ministry of Industry and Trade award for best integrated corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Russian Helicopters, received the award from Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov at a ceremony held today at the Ministry in Moscow.

“We are grateful for the Ministry’s high esteem of our work in the field of CSR,” Alexander Mikheev said in his acceptance speech. “This is a great honour for us and an important event that once again affirms our strategy for developing Russia’s helicopter industry.”

Russian Helicopters makes a substantial contribution to social and economic development across Russia as a whole as well as in individual regions. The company provides about 40,000 jobs for highly qualified staff, and sees social welfare and its employees’ health and safety as a core priority. Russian Helicopters works hard to raise the profile of engineering professions and to attract talented young people into the high-tech helicopter-building sector, as well as to develop social programmes. Russian Helicopters is also a major tax-payer that makes a large contribution every year to budgets in its regions of operation.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s CSR awards were held for the first time this year. About 300 companies and organisations from across the defence industry took part.
